outlines the full-support of the Government of Bangladesh to make ICT a thrust
sector geared towards world-wide recogntion. This document presents the policy
guidelines for the development of the ICT sector in Bangladesh.
Science and Technology Policy
The national Science
and Technology Policy of the Government of Bangladesh is a
comprehensive and coherent set of guidelines, designed to contribute to the
achievement of the country's development objectives, through effective
application of science and technology for development.
Final Report on the Law of Information Technology
ACT
At present, many
legal provisions (such as the Evidence Act, 1872, the Penal Code, 1860. the
Banker's Books Evidence Act, 1891, etc.) recognize paper based records and
documents bearing signatures of parties and make them admissible in evidence in
various disputes. In order to facilitate electronic commerce, there is a need
for a legal framework and also for legal changes.

Information
Technology Policy - (Draft) BCC
This
IT Policy aims at building an IT-driven nation comprising of
knowledge-based society by the year 2010. In view of this, a country-wide
IT-infrastructure will be developed to ensure access to information by every
citizen to facilitate empowerment of people and enhance democratic values and
norms for sustainable economic development by using the infrastructure for
human resources development, governance, e-commerce, banking, public utility
services and all sorts of on-line IT-enabled services.
